A letter from the maker
Dear fellow builder, founder, designer, or curious explorer,
When I started working in product design more than 15 years ago, I quickly fell in love with the Cracow tech scene. Over the years I’ve had the chance to help many ambitious SaaS and fintech teams, including companies backed by YC and Sequoia, bring their products to life.
One thing kept coming up again and again: people struggling to get a clear picture of what’s actually happening in our local ecosystem. Who is building what? Where are the interesting companies located? Who just raised money or is looking for talent?
I got tired of scattered information, outdated lists, and “you should talk to this person” conversations.
So I built Startup Cracow Map.
This is an independent, interactive directory and visual map of 700+ startups, studios, hubs, and innovation players across Cracow. It shows sectors, funding stages, districts, and short descriptions, all in one searchable, filterable place with a real map view.
Why am I doing this?
Because strong local ecosystems are built on visibility and connections. Because good data should be open and easy to use. And because I believe Cracow has enormous potential that deserves to be seen clearly.
This project is (and will remain) independent. I design and code it myself in my spare time while continuing to take on product design work for startups. Every week I add new entries, improve features, and publish short articles about the journey.
You can already
- Explore and filter the full list
- Switch to the map view
- Submit new companies or updates through the form
- Follow the changelog to see what’s new
My hope is that this map becomes a useful tool for founders looking for inspiration or partners, for talent searching for the right team, for investors exploring opportunities, and for everyone who wants to understand and support the Cracow tech community.
If you’re part of this ecosystem, or want to be, I invite you to use the map, share it, and contribute what you know. Together we can make the Cracow startup scene more visible, connected, and vibrant.
Thank you for visiting,
Jan
